Shul telephone problems - Resolved Monday 1st March, 12.00pm - The problems with the telephone and fax lines coming into the Shul office have now been fixed.
Shul telephone problems Wed 24 Feb: There are currently problems affecting the telephones at the Shul. Only 2 of the 3 phone lines are working, and the fax line is down completely. It therefore may take longer for you to get through by phone, and faxes will not be able to get through at all. We are working with our suppliers to get this resolved as soon as possible. In general it may be best to contact us by E-Mail to info@borehamwoodshul.org.

Eruv Update - Feb 2010 Update from The Trustees for the community as to where they are in terms of the
Borehamwood and Elstree Eruv.
Jewish Book Week My name is Dr John Marks and I was a general practitioner in Borehamwood from 1954 until 1989. I was a founder - and in fact the original treasurer - of the Jewish organisation which preceded, and which lead to,the establishment of a synagogue in 1955. My partner Philip Sattin was the first President.
I am attaching a link to part of the programme of this year's Jewish Book Week. There must be members of your synagogue who still remember me, who might well have been my patients, and who might be interested in attending.
If I have sufficient time it is my intention to mention the foundation of that community - we had the utmost difficulty of finding 30 families in Borehamwood and Radlett. If anyone had told me then that half a century later it would turn out to be one of the largest Jewish communities in the country, I would have sent them to Shenley, at that time a huge mental hospital.
Incidentally, Laurence Buckman is chairing the session. He was also a general practitioner in Borehamwood for many years, and is now chairman of the BMA's General Practitioner's committee.

Dear Colleague,
Sadly, but all too predictably, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) continues to promote its campaign to boycott all things Israeli, regardless of the indiscriminate effect on both Arabs and Jews in the region. The latest campaign targets Waitrose and Tesco during the period 9-17 January, and once again we are calling on Israel’s friends and those who desire peace and security for all to respond with a BUYcott. Read more about it...
