The Findings

The findings and recommendations of the sub committee are as follows:

1. Do Nothing - Not a viable option. It only delays the inevitable with every penny spent effectively wasted.

2. Relocate - This is dependant on the sale and value of the existing site, purchase of another site and construction of a new facility - Not viable due lack of available sites, low value of current site and cost of building a new facility.

3. Refurbish existing buildings - Not a viable option - Does not address the lack of space or inherent issues with the structure of the existing buildings.

4. Redevelop Site whilst retaining main Shul - Identified as the only viable option to meet the requirements of the brief

A presentation and recommendation was made to the Board of Management in November 2010 and it was unanimously accepted that we should proceed to the next stage in the process to implement the recommended option (4) with the aim of delivering a sustainable, high quality, low maintenance and flexible building solution that will serve the communities' many and varied needs for years to come.
