Children

With thousands of children and youth gracing our ever-expanding community, Borehamwood and Elstree Synagogue (BES) aims to provide activities for all, both of a religious and non-religious kind.

We are keen to ensure the safety of all children spending time at BES, and have implemented a policy to deal with this.

Each Shabbat and Yomtov there are several services for children (age 0-3; 4-6; 7-10) and the youth (age 11-16). Bnei Akiva is also held each week on a Shabbat afternoon.

During the week, there are many activities hosted on the BES premises, including JLGB, Rainbows, Brownies, Girl Guides, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and a Baby & Toddler Group.

Every summer, the shul runs a Kaytana (children's summer camp), while each motzei Shabbat, a Horim veyaledim (parents and children) programme is run at the shul, providing parents (mothers and fathers) with an opportunity to spend an hour learning together with their children.
