New Youth Directors join BES

Dear Members

We would like to thank you for welcoming us into your community and we cannot wait to get started and get to know you all on a personal level.  We come as a team but individually we have amassed years of leadership experience from various youth movements and communities over the years.  We understand the task at hand is not a simple one.  However, we are eager to create something special with the help of you all.

We are striving towards inclusivity amongst all backgrounds, irrespective of current observance.  Our experiences in education have allowed us to gain perspectives of what is needed to engage the new age of “millennials” and to involve them in various ways within the Jewish community.  We aim to not only connect youth in the community through shul attendance (as this may not appeal to everyone) but also through other activities which will be held during the week and meals on Shabbat.  Equal emphasis on events such as Friday night dinners and midweek engaging activities is really important.  This aims to create a positive and enjoyable experience amongst youth, which they can associate with Shul and Judaism.

We would like you to know that as the parents of the youth, it is vital for us to build a connection with you too, as together we can achieve a lot more. We are committed to making a difference and enhancing the Jewish experience for the youth of the Borehamwood and Elstree community. We cannot wait to work together to achieve this.

Looking forward to the upcoming year!

Dalia and Elisha
